More Wistletaters!

Kenneth: your reasoning has a logical fallacy. You canβt compare the total number of deaths from the regular flu to the Coronavirus deaths. What counts is the % of deaths per number of infections! The regular flu has a mortality rate of around 0.5%, the Coronavirus mortality rate is still unclear but in Italy right now itβs around 8.5%. Saying that the risk is overblown because the total number of deaths is still less than the flu while ignoring the total number of infections is like saying that Ebola is not that dangerous because only 2200 people died last year due to Ebola in DRC. but it was 2200 out of 3300! And lastly if people are so worried about the economy, slowing down the Coronavirus epidemic is the best way to reduce the impact on the economy rather than pretending everything is ok, just to be forced to enact total lockdowns, like in Europe, when it becomes obvious that everything is NOT ok and the hospitals are collapsing. Then the toll on the economy will really be terrific.

This is after your period, but you guys might find this infographic interesting about international arms sales. https://www.visualcapitalist.com/arms-sales-usa-vs-russia-1950-2017/
C&Rsenal
yeah, the other two were kinda locking horns. The third has made more of a pack feel and things have largely settled.
C&Rsenal
Somewhere between Migraine and "the most fun of your life" lies myth busting.
C&Rsenal
True! But the handguns are still a sight better and you get a lot less guilt there.
C&Rsenal
Unfortunately I don't see an emergent alternative. But yes, we could host in various places. I just find we end up having to chase them around more than YT for who knows what.
C&Rsenal
We haven't had the pleasure but he does do a great job!
C&Rsenal
Yup, there's also Duelist, CapandBall, and Dustin Winegar I believe. Plus a few others.
C&Rsenal
Thank
C&Rsenal
Unfortunately no matter how many people offer that this would be fine... we lose a significant amount of funding whenever we skip an episode. The silent majority do not approve it appears.
C&Rsenal
Ah, I didn't realize it was RSS based. I'll take a poke.
C&Rsenal
It can be hard to find a connection with a modern product.
C&Rsenal
Who wouldn't?
C&Rsenal
There are some podcast series out there. Also the Internet Archive has TONS for free.
C&Rsenal
Oh we won't compromise. We might have a little fun here and there, but no compromise.
C&Rsenal
Thanks for the support!
C&Rsenal
I appreciate it. We're taking it pretty seriously because the worst that happens is you "look foolish." I've been a fool all my life so no big there.
C&Rsenal
Honestly I think 90% of our success has been integrity based. If people want cheap/fast gun knowledge there are a LOT of other places to go.
C&Rsenal
I also listen to a lot of detective shows. Taofledermaus and I kinda share the hobby together.
C&Rsenal
The moral of the story is we're all inbred.
C&Rsenal
Not that they would ever send me one, but they do look cheap.
Jackson Darr
Schmeiser. Othais said it a few podcasts ago.
TankDestroyerSarge
There's a THIRD GUINEA PIG? Who is Hugo named for, Borchardt? Schmeiser?
Phil Byrd
problem your not understanding is that america is setup to handle that kind of influx... this virus is 10 to 40 times more deadly and 5-25 times more contagious... if all the people at once get it they will be dying in gyms and auditoriums for lack of basic equipment... the purpose of the lockdowns is to slow transmission rates and not have a big spike of infections which are medical facilties cant handle. Projections for death toll in US without measures are 1-2 million, even with we are looking at 200k-900k... so no this isnt just a normal flu season... we dont even know if warmer temps are going to help transmission rates yet or what mutations are going to do, as of right now there are at least 3 strains in the world

17:08 "...get it as right as possible..." Hear, hear! You guys remind me of Bernhard over on Military History Visualised (MHV). Sometimes I think his mission statement would be along the lines of "Myth Busting for Wehraboos".
Richard Anderson
I'm with you on the interest in BP, both muzzle loaders and the early cartridge rifles. However many of the decent reproductions actually cost more than the originals. I've built a fair collection of trapdoor rifles from the earliest to one of the last. None of them cost even near what Pendersoli reproductions cost....and of course they are more historically accurate.
Bruce Brodnax
I think a BP series would be grand. As far as the loading sequence goes, perhaps you could have a link in the video details to another hosting site for just the loading sequence(s)? Since those would be relatively short, perhaps this would finally enable you to get some traction out of presence on alternatives like BitChute, Gunstreamer or Full30? (Yes, I'm aware of your poor track record w/ F30, entirely on their end...)
Philip Spadano
I know you have worked with Bloke on the Range in the past, so if working with Europeans is not an issue, perhaps the Hungarian channel, capandball, would be one to collaborate with. His work is outstanding in my personal opinion.
Charles F Walker
You may look at Hickok 45 on Utube he has does vid's on black powder including militay blk powder firearms .
Andrey Gardner
Smart capitalist is also a possible explanation. Brand value is an asset and diluting it produces short term gains at the expense of long term return. Perhaps a lower standard budget brand is in order to profit from sub par productions, but that would run afoul of having integrity in the brand umbrella.
Chris Marchi
Good show

Would periodically going to 1 episode every 3 weeks allow you to get ahead, participate in events, and not run yourselves into the ground in the process? I would be fine with that. When ever I find myself in need of a C&Rsenal hit, I root through the reruns. 076 is queued up right now...
Matt Rio
I'm glad to hear y'all are investigating mp3 distribution. Just so you know, Patreon has a built in rss feed system. It allows you to upload a file to Patreon and every patron has their own unique rss link they can add to any podcast app. I support a bunch of creators who use this feature and it's great. Karl uses it for InRange as well as Ian for forgotten weapons. They may be able to get you pointed in the right direction.

Regarding the discussion on sickness: In 2018 FLu season 4000 Americans per week died from the H2N3 virus (nobody noticed and still didn't get flu shots the following year) ANd Hospital care won't do anything for a virus they can only treat symptoms and one can do this for the most part at home. - unless someone is really at risk population (comprimised immune system from say post cancer treatment, or very elderly. This is way overblown. More people die from snake bites in the US than this disease to date! America really needs to man up and take care of each other and not fight over toilet paper and shut down an economy. The economic impact will be more harmful to peoples lives than this virus.
Kenneth Marshall
Love the idea of you exploring working with a manufacturer to do some historic-advertisement hybrid - A great idea so that you can thrive and grow your wonderful format.
Jack Fairbrother
I used to watch Bonanza with my Nan when I was little π. I think it was Lorne Greene who was in Battle Star as well. I thought he was super cool when I was a kid. I think my Nan just had a crush on him lol.
Wayne Dygert
Now I've gotta google old time radio show sites. Hope they're using Richard Boone's voice. It wouldn't be right without
Michael Kumba
I would defiantly pay 1$ for some instructional videos on the old black powder rifles. but they are not really my area of interest, could never get interested in the western genre. I actually can't wait until you guys get on to ww2. but anything related to US service rifles is top marks in my book. I would rather you guys keep up your high integrity standards and keep up the absolutely fantastic work on providing accurate historical research than tarnish your name for profit. but do what you need to do to stay in the black

Thanks for the update; it's like listening to friends chat as you sit alongside, drinking a drink and not commenting, just enjoying the company.

Re the pandemic: my family lives in North Italy, the epicenter of the Italian outbreak. I get news from them and not the media. The wait and see approach is what brought the country where it is now: in total lockdown and with people dying due to not having enough hospital equipment for the massive influx of people with respiratory failure. Now everybody in Italy wishes that the country enacted a lockdown at the start of the epidemic instead of waiting until it was widespread. Stay safe guys! And if you have face masks donβt wait until you are sick to use them, use them preemptively to AVOID getting sick in the first place so you donβt contribute to the spread of the disease and the toll on the hospitals!

Re: Your NDA story. Itβs not that youβre a bad capitalist; itβs just that you have _integrity_.
Jason
Looking forward to the βmysteryβ shows! Nice to see you also like Old Time Radio. The Six Shooter and Frontier Gentleman are also very good radio Westerns. Went grocery shopping on Tuesday March 3rd. The three thing I noticed as stripped bare were hand sanitizer, Kleenex, and powdered milk. This is in eastern Washington state. No cases locally. Yet.
chris
Take care you guys. Maybe build a big boat and fill it with breeding pairs of animals.

Nitpicking frames is straight out of LGR's ouevre... he replaced the hardware on his YT play button plaque.
