Several of you rightly pointed out I skimmed over the major difference in the Scandinavian Krags last episode: the second locking lug.
For whatever reason that point did not stand out in my source notes and I failed to pull my head up long enough to remember my basics. We're rolling a corrected animation and I'm going to record a video/audio patch.
Unfortunately we have to re-release the episode and lose the metrics so far but unlike little issues this one is pretty core to the design and understanding of the rifle. So don't be surprised when the next notification comes through!
We're still committed to being as correct as possible in our series and consider that trust essential for our continued community support.

Convergent evolution? Or is there any indication that the RSC's system is actually derived from/inspired by the Krag?
Samuel Doak
Outstanding work, especially when you (all) put accuracy over metrics. is one of the many reasons to support the channel. Pony up People !!
C&Rsenal
Actually this is pretty spot on.

Mae Responding: The original post has since been updated with the new link. Check the pinned comment on the episode for the major corrections. Thank you all for your patience and for giving us a heads up on the mistake!

Now that I finally understand how the Krag magazine works, I can't not see the similarities between it and the RSC's foldy-downy clip door/follower thing. Like if you took the RSC mag, rotated it 90 degrees and ditched the clip, you'd have a Krag mag.

So it goes...I look back on bits of work I've done that I now know contain errors and they make me want to peel my face off.

I do not see YouTube being helpful, but I do wonder if version control is something Utreon is going to implement.

I didn't notice but now its all comming back. I watch the US episode piecemeal about every two months. Saw about 30 minutes after the Danish Krag this week. Looking foward to next time. Thanks for the good work.

Love the high standards, I give as much as I can because I can't do what you guys do! Thanks for the correction and I'll happily watch again!
David Nesius
As I remembered, it's in the animation and Mae mentions it. Oh, are you talking about the second animation?
Liam Visman
Looks like I'll be watching a Danish Krag episode again, not even mad 👌

“Determined Idiots” and we love you for it.

I believe I explained the difference in the US Krag episode, in order to describe how it does NOT lock. But I goofed on the actual Dane.

This is what happens when you are overworked and underpaid. It's all good!
Ron Johnson
I recall Othais saying there was a single locking lug and that the bolt handle could function as a secondary lug.
C&Rsenal
no, you have to un-like the old one
Will Sanders
I've been busy enough I've not even watched it yet so I'll comment afresh on the new one. Keep up the public high standards for journalism and research! It's always refreshing to hear *I was wrong, here's the correct information" as one working in the science field.
Xavier Thilking
Crazy, I could swear I remember that too!
Primarch359
So what your saying is everyone should remember to like and comment on the new upload?
C&Rsenal
Nope, even the animation shows a single lug. I auto-piloted right over that key detail.
Eric Elcock
I wait until the weekend to watch these, so no worries.
Casey Muzio
It's fine I'll like and comment on it again to help the algorithm
Henry von Tresckow
Thank you for giving us the best information possible. Too bad youtube didn't implement some kind of version control way back when to allow someone to upload corrected videos.

Call me crazy, but I remember you mentioning it several times as a detail, and the bolt serving as a rudimentary backup locking lug.
