My broad takeaway from this video: There are just as many mechanically distinct ways of making a revolver load, rotate, and fire safely as there are to make a semiautomatic handgun load, reciprocate and fire safely.

My sarcasm did not carry well. I recall a certain Lewis Gun video that had "quacking" ADR over the gunfire because YT thought loading a magazine was manufacturing a firearm, and would not know one if it did not make a bang.

As pointed out YT demonetizes them normally anyway and as for what difference a small detail makes it is a point of pride in your work. The team wants to give us the best accurate info out there, even if it means taking down and revising an episode.

Anyone who enjoyed this as much as me should watch the Chap from Bloke on the Range’s new video about the Manurhin MR73’s lockwork it’s super interesting and displays really well how they managed to create one of, if not the best service revolver in the world. It has the accuracy and characteristics of a high end target piece with the strength and longevity over and above basically anything else in the gun world full stop! Let alone revolvers in particular.

I still want a Walker, but single double with better loading lever retention. I know it's not practical, but if I wanted practical I would go for a semi-auto instead.

There isn't a 'like' option, so this will have to serve. Revolver design builds upon the past, so any modern weapon is a better choice; at least IMHO.

Second gun I ever bought myself was a S&W .357. The first was the world's only malfunctioning G3. One has never worked right... the other has never once gone wrong.

This is a fantastic tutorial. Watching the early Primers taught me a lot about rifle bolts and now I have a foundation for revolvers. I loved my dad's Ruger GP100 in .357 Magnum/.38 Special (now with my son). While I admire the innovations and history of revolvers in the period up through The Great War, I prefer modern metallurgy, manufacturing and transfer bars. I don't have any suggestions for changes.

A great video! I learned a lot watching this, and will probably see it many more times until I can absorb all of the names related to various design features. A few small additions for consideration: 1. a cutaway illustration comparing pinfire, rimfire and centerfire primed cases, perhaps during your description of how rimfire priming works 2. in the definition of revolver, an acknowledgement that the chamber is contained in the cylinder and thus separated from the barrel 3. some mention of the three major classes of springs used flat, Vee and coil, and perhaps the advantages of coil springs more common to later production designs 4. while it is a much later development, the Ruger method for 'compartmentalizing' many functional components within the triggerguard of a solid frame DA probably deserves brief mention

1) did Othais steal that pointer from his dentist? 2) If I recall correctly, Ian and Karl had an interview with a Faxon dude about barrels back for the OG WWSD, and he said long barrels aren't any more mechanically accurate. If anything, they have the propensity to be less accurate cause they flex more

Much as I enjoy my 1895 Nagant and (repro) Walker for their quirkiness the wheel guns I shoot the most are my Ruger Vaquero and Redhawk. If you were to do this material in a book I would buy a copy.

The Webley coin slot looks big enough for an old penny, or maybe even a florin. Ha"pennies might work but a thurppenny bit would probably be too thick and a farthing, or a tanner, too small.

I loooove revolvers. one can never be exposed to much to a fine wheelgun. say from the dragoon up to and including a kimber 357 of these days.... ok maybe a bit too long for a video. jap 26 would make a decent carry piece with its DAO if only the caliber would have a little more hmmpf to it.

Mae Responding: $30 now. The ends were banging up against the legs whenever the dogs ran by it, so I snagged some of those sticky felt pads that you use for the feet of furniture and stuck 4 to the underside of the ends where they met the legs. No more thunks. Even more worth the price now.
