Found this extra informative as I found out something I wasn't aware of on my C96. I have the middle transitional style safety on mine. It goes into safe in either the cocked or fired position but it doesn't have the upgrade. Found if you you set it to a mid point position and pull the trigger it does actually come off the sear and it will fire when you move the safety the rest of the way to the off position. Something that's good to know for the future as I had never tried that before.

Cool history and as always great shooting from Mae.

Yup, the C96 will bite-ya with the stock installed. But for a real injury, I recommend the Sauer & Sohn 1913, just remember to use a modern high hand tight grip and have your favorite expletive's at the ready! As well as a first aid kit. ;)

When I shoot my C96 with the stock attached, the hammer raps the knuckle of my thumb. Hard enough that it hurts for several days. I have to remember to keep my right thumb on the right side of the gun. I’m surprised it didn’t happen to you.

I heard John Arby carried one of these

"It's OK to have a littler hammer" :)
