I got you fam, China Town buffet in Summerville slaps. I've been going there for 15+ years. It sounds similar to where y'all ate. It's over by where the Sticky Fingers used to be. They used to have a cool tropical Amazon fish tank but then switched to a more boring saltwater reef tank after they caught fire and rebuilt.

Some years back, the convention center here had a big gun show, and in some other area of the hotel/center was some type of kids Anime/fantasy convention. It was beyond bizarre seeing guys carrying guns and ammo, mixed in with kids in various costumes. Not sure, but it might top your experience with the kid cheerleaders.
