Early Look: 'Western' Food in Asia - Curry

We had a lot of fun with our previous 'western food in Asia' video on Spaghetti, where we looked at spaghetti dishes from (1) Hong Kong Cha Chaan Teng (2) Japanese Yoshoku and (3) Bangkok, Thailand. This time, we wanted to cover another mainstay in the Cha Chaan Teng/Yoshoku world: Curry.
Curry's got a fascinating history in its own right, and it was a lot of fun delving into both the Cantonese and Japanese traditions. We also included a third curry from Thailand which doesn't quite fit the category quite as neatly as the other two... but hey, is pretty delicious in its own right.
Hope you enjoy this one. Next few videos'll be a bit bit less ambitious, so we should be able to get you guys a few more recipes in June :)

Sometimes we even just fry HK curry powder with ginger and garlic, then stew whatever then call it a day, haha. Truly versatile.

The Thai curry isn't too different from a "Cambodian Chicken Curry" I make using a recipe that I think I must have found on a jar of yellow curry paste years ago. It's funny how foods that were originally spread by empires are now spread by...corporate empires? Lol, looks delicious as always, thanks!
