At some point, discounting the product devalues the work. I think a cost break down would help knock some sense into the freeloaders or peanut payers. Just what would it cost to have a couple professionals go down to a range, rent a gun of interest, like a machine gun, and put a few rounds through it for the audio?

Best firework to me, Girandolas. The only one I could find this year was “who let the hog out”. They aren’t cheap but are always popular at my shows. When they don’t work it’s like a game of rolling hot potato, except they explode.

On the sound pricing, I would recommend selling it as a permanent license because the enforcement of someone violating a temporary license would be very time consuming and pricy. You are definitely not crazy about having a justifiable price in the hundreds to thousands depending on the rarity and accessibility of the firearm. At this point I would like to see you guys earn some income on some of your previous work. I don’t think you would necessarily be able to charge the full price to recoup your costs but I would say that explaining to the purchaser the actual cost to reproduce those sounds should get you to a more realistic price.
