On Scurvy... as I understand it, the practical reasons for alleviation of symptoms was replaced by a theory of causation caused by scorbutics, and the alleviation was anti- scorbutics. They had no real understanding of vitamin defiecencies. Of course, they also thought that the Arctic Ocean had a warm spot above canada, and ships would be able to just sail right on through. So bad science all the way around for the Franklin Expedition.

Samuel Colt’s shenanigans are begging to be turned into an HBO show or movie. With how crazy he was, even historical liberties taken in the script have a good chance of actually being true.

Excelllent as always, outstanding amount of information. It is too bad no one has made a replica of the Beaumont-Adams for comparison. Being a dyed in the wool double action shooter I would love to see that.

This is the content I pay for lol, I love these old west guns. Funny, in modern day they would have probably called these things like, The Walker. The Walker A1 (Dragoon) Walker Sub Compact Walker A2 Etc.
