I'm so happy you made this episode, the Argentine 1891s have always been my favorite Mauser. They are absolutely beautiful with tons of interesting markings and can still be found in great condition. It is a shame so many have been sporterized though. One additional thing that may be worth noting, in the US market depending on serial number, nearly all of the DWM models fall under c&r while those made my Loewe are antiques.

Excellent episode you guys. This rifle was my very first soirée when I was 16 years, old into the Mil-surp world. I got it as a birthday present. Today was also the first day I found out that the magazine was detachable. You learn something new every day. I am wicked excited to see you next episode and your theories on why the crest was ground off a lot of these. I am one of the lucky few to have a intact crest and I am immensely curious with these tangible pieces of history. Also, very intrigued to see the dates on when they were actually made. Looks like mine was made towards the end. Anyway, good job you guys thanks again keep up the great work as always, be well and stay safe. Cheers! No, it's an experimental ww2 US Stamped Sheet Metal 45 cal pistol. Really interesting, possibly inspiered by the Liberator and M3 Grease Gun. Its in Ian McCollums new book on US WW2 Weapons.
