Old fashion molasses popcorn - Modernized Pop 2 bags of microwave popcorn, place in large mixing bowl, set aside. Then combine 1/2 C molasses, 1/2 C sugar, 1 Tbs Vanilla extract in a 2 Qt sauce pan, stir with long handled spoon until the mixture stops looking "grainy". Continue heating until it boils. Stir in a 1/2 tsp baking powder, keep stirring as mixture expands. Take off heat and pour over prepared popcorn. Stir in pats of soften butter to taste, combine until popcorn is covered evenly, It should be a little "speckled". Let cool & enjoy! Beware of "old maids", your teeth will thank me.

Back in my day Grandma money was $5, now that my wife is the Grandma she sends the grand brats only $20 so we haven't kept up with inflation! Merry Christmas to all, keep your powder dry unless you are gun cleaning then use Ballistol and water!

I put molasses on popcorn sometimes. Little messy but very good if you like sweet popcorn

Re: popcorn seasoning, za'atar (sumac, sesame, and herbs) is damn tasty. Butter optional.

My popcorn topping is very easy (and probably pretty classic) regular buttered popcorn with old bay to taste, occasionally with garlic powder.
