To SR6? Basically more movement axes add to the experience. I don't expect SR6 to be for everyone, which is why OSR2 is still my main design.

any reason you upgraded...does it translate into more realism or what would be the benefits of such upgrade you think?

poecil

what servos you buying? brushless ? and you think there is a benefit in putting in those servos for choppers around 150$? i'm new to the servo world....

Yes I love the twist axis on my OSR2. Really adds a lot to video funscripts when there is the twist axis with it - any sort of real BJ does rotation around axis not just up/down ;-) No problem with strength of Parallax 360. Its well able to move the main ring with that amount of step down (up?) gearing. I will be starting to make OSR6 when I get 4 new servos which I have ordered. Its a pity to dismantle the great OSR2 to make it, but can't really afford to keep both!

I've used PLA throughout and it works just fine. I wouldn't worry about the 3D printed gears. The forces involved in the twist are actually pretty small compared with the main arms. The gears inside the Parallax 360 feedback servo are in fact plastic (POM). They are far more delicate and would fail far earlier than the 3D printed gears on the twist.

Thanks for sharing! Right now I hesitate building the T-wist for my OSR2 because of doubts concerning the durability of the printed gearwheels. What type of filament do you advise? What's your experience as far as durability is concerned?
