🕑 Added 2024-10-06 11:03:22 +0000 UTCImplemented an option to search over multiple channels in one query and also an option to exclude channels (i.e. search everything except the channels in the list).
You can also just paste a comma delimited list of channel ids (UC...) or @ channel handles into the channel lookup box, it will automatically populate the list.
Pasting the text with subscriptions from google takeout also works.
If you are planning to reuse a complex channel list make a bookmark after searching and use that so you don't have to input the channels again.
The size of the list is browser dependent but should work with up-to 200 channels in any case.

To illustrate a case use for blocklists, I am constantly running searches on historical names and am bombarded by game channels which often incorporate history themes. I will use the side bar filter to exclude gaming channels, but am still bombarded by gaming channels. As a group, my hope is we can create somewhat exhaustive lists. Further, some people may want only gaming sites, so a white list for some may be useful as a blacklist for others.

Also, just bookmarking the search page with the channel list after a search is a way to have a sharable list, the channel Ids are fully contained in the url.

Adding user defined channel lists is on my to-do list. I am not quite sure what is the use case of a block list, how would you manage it and how large could it be. I'd be happy to discuss the details if you want to hop into discord.

Adding channels to my blocklist one by one as more clickbait channels pop-up doesn't work. A possible solution would be to allowing us to build blocklists as well as a "favorite" channel lists, preferably with the ability to share them. Maybe add a button next to every video that allow adding that channel to your personal blocklist/favorites. And with integrated way to select the shared lists in the GUI, the system would become even more powerful. Thanks for creating filmot, it's amazing the rabbit holes you can find.

if i get an example i will send it. i dont mind it i just wish i knew how to know i got the "ultimate" set of results and how much to remove.

I wonder if there exists a website that can create blocklists for youtube channels other than filmot itself? I just used the "page source" of a filmot search result to do this via notepad++ using column blocking (holding down the alt key while marking a block of text).

I'd need a specific example but in principle it can happen, each query is limited in CPU resources and when it's exceeded the system just spits out what was found so far, including the counts.

Wonderful! This is the feature I've wanted most! I did not something though. When you search for many results using the "or" trick " | " the number of total results shrinks instead of growing . i wonder if the count is irrelevant or which results are somehow "disappearing" when the search becomes larger.
