日本語の受身形には尊敬語の役割があります。特に丁寧な話し方をするときに、敬意を表している相手の行為を表すときに受身形を使います。 In Japanese, when you talk very politely, you use passive form to describe an action of someone you pay respect. You don't need to do this when you talk casually in daily conversation, but if you were working at a place where you were required to speak in very polite way, then when you should use this "honorific form" when you describe action of your customers.
