There was a thoughtful hum from William Dey, then his voice filtered over the image of Kara checking to make sure Lena had left before frantically turning the shower to its coldest setting. “I think it showed a remarkable amount of self-restraint to keep her libido in check, while most alphas in that situation would have—”
“I think we’ve had enough of these shows for tonight,” Kara announced louder than necessary as she rushed to grab the controller and turned the screen off. She faltered for a moment, but ultimately returned to the table and ignored the way Lena was watching her as she downed the rest of her wine.

Snapping back to attention, Lena slid out of her bathrobe, finding it too warm to wear, even throughout the rest of their dinner.
