“We have try-outs in five minutes and you’re supposed to be my wing-man. What if Lucy tries to talk to me? What am I supposed to do?” Kara asked, ranting as she raided her drawer to spray herself with enough cologne it would choke anyone within ten feet of her.
“She won’t have time to talk to you today,” Lena stated with far more authority than she felt. “She’ll be practicing with the other cheerleaders, so quit freaking out and get to try-outs. I’ll be right behind you.” She hardened her jaw and puffed out her chest, in spite of being wrapped up in her blanket like a mummy.
The sternness of her tone snapped Kara out of her state, and the alpha drew herself up to frown at Lena. “Seriously, you have five minutes to get dressed, because if you're late the coach will bench you and you’ll never get picked for the team.”
Kara didn’t linger after that, and Lena tumbled out of bed to tug on her clothes with the determination to make it to the field on time.

This story is amazing! I'm laughing so much. Lena trying to pass as alpha and pulling out a compact and makeup bag to primp herself up before class. 🙄🤣😂🤣 And of course Kara notices. And Lena's verbal takedown of the nerd. BTW, what the heck sports are all the nerds taking for their requirements? I hope it's swimming.
