Took the idea from theoretical physics! Including the part about harnessing energy from dark matter (which we don't really understand) and black holes (which we sort of understand). In the series, they say Kara traveled 2,000 light years to Earth (with the interruption of the Phantom Zone), but Superman spent uninterrupted years traveling to Earth - some 20-30 years. It would take us approx. 32,700 years to travel 1 light year if we were traveling 5 miles per second, so the possibility of being able to go to Krypton is like... well, not possible, unless factoring in some extraordinary means of energy-harnessing. *Also Krypton's distance from Earth is different across Superman/Supergirl in comics/shows, and in some cases is even further away. 2,000 light years is the low end apparently.
