Lena had only ever tried out for anything a handful of times in her life, and none of them happened to be contact sports. They positioned themselves back at mid field and Lena made the mistake of staring too long at the cheerleaders while the coach spoke to a few of the players.
Kate came over to join her in admiring the cheerleader line-up. “Who is it that caught your eye, Luthor? You’d better not be checking out my Kit.”
“Excuse me?” Lena asked with a tone that implied Kate was deranged.
Kate gestured to the charcoal black and cherry red fox that blew kisses their way the second she waved. She puffed up proudly, boasting with pheromones and her tone as she stated, “I call her KitKat for short.”
Lena pulled her eyebrows together as she puzzled over how that was shorter than Kit. She groaned inwardly as she realized the mascot was named after an actual species of fox.
“Guess it’s better than Vixen,” Lena drawled, though the joke was lost on Kate, who just blinked in response.
“Kane! Luthor! Get your heads out of your asses and back in the game or get off my field!” Coach Edge snarled from the side of the pitch, and then pointed in the direction they should have been looking.
Barry rushed by them, and Lena took off down the field in pursuit while Kate flanked her, and Kara charged ahead to block his pass. Oliver tackled him and sent the ball rolling back in their direction. This time, Lena didn’t trip over it and managed to boot it over to Kate, who was remarkably fast footed and well-coordinated.
Kate maneuvered between players and sent the ball soaring towards Kara, who was tall enough to hit it with her head when she jumped for it. The ball flew through the air with other alphas all scrambling down the pitch after it, but it sailed straight past the goalie and into the net.

I had no idea someone could be so flexible.”

“I saved you a seat, babe,” Kate bragged, elbowing Oliver until he grudgingly squished himself closer to Barry, who in turn shoved up against Kara to make room for Kate’s girlfriend. “C’mon, we’re ordering the special.”
“Can she even eat in that?” Lena asked in a hush and squinted at Lucy like she would know better than anyone.
“Nope, but Kate still persists in sharing her food,” Kara piped in with a very judgmental glance in Kate’s direction, like she didn’t believe in wasting food on someone who wouldn’t appreciate eating it.
“It’s kind of weird, but they’re cute together, and you’ll get used to their dynamic,” Lucy insisted, and Lena followed her gaze to watch the chivalrous way Kate filled a glass of water and pushed it in front of Kit, who in turn placed her paw on Kate’s knee.
Lena tried not to gawk at that and leveled Lucy with a disbelieving squint. “Well, that depends, there’s a real omega in there, right? Like, you’ve actually seen her?”
“I don’t know you well enough to be spilling any secrets yet. Ask me again the next time we have dinner.” Lucy’s effortless flirtation was suave, and Lena couldn’t help but admire it as she bashfully laughed and dipped her chin to her chest.
“We totally will,” Kara grinned, missing the fact that she hadn’t been personally invited. The alpha slung her arm over Lena’s shoulder like she considered them a package deal, and Lena wondered how the hell she was going to survive one dinner, let alone another if it involved the two of them.

agreed I love Lucy as a default ex/competition because she has sort of the same flavor of sweet and sass that I think Lena brings to the table but just a little different. Definitely can't wait to see how you utilize her in the story!

Kara is going to be pretty glued to her, which Lena will hate and love simultaneously. I dunno why, but I sometimes default to Lucy as an alternative love interest for Kara - not like, in a serious way, because obviously she belongs with Lena, but she makes a good ex or crush? Lena's been there for just a few days and she's definitely not managing the best... The comedy in this series never fails. Poor Lena desperately running for her life and yet being followed physically and metaphorically by Kara is just a riot. AND NOW THERE’S LUCY and ok Lucy and Lena I’m having thoughts about now thanks to this! I will keep those thoughts to myself but that talk about sharing definitely was something of an idea huh! Lena in the shower was lucky all that water drowned out her scent I think - gunna be interesting to see how long she makes it before someone figures her out! I GOTTA KNOW WHO’S IN THE FURSUIT THOUGH OH MAN the real kicker (ha) of this story. Is it an omega?? Is it an Alpha pulling the same stunt Lena is??? WHO KNOWS BUT ITS HILARIOUS AND I LOVE EVERY SECOND OF IT (also Kate being mildly sweet in the locker room made me aw).
