i think after 6 seasons, having the main character go is really refreshing! i love nina but i disliked elena and all her storylines were good for like 2 seasons but tbh i was done with the love triangle and delena for a few seasons now... i think it's also gonna be good to see damon without her, bc he's an interesting character but elena was the biggest part of his storyline..

I'm with you, with shows like these you have suspend disbelief to some extent but to mourn Elena who's not dead, she's in a magical coma who will wake up eventually vs no mourning at all for the PREGNANT wife of Alaric is absolutely unbelievable.
