Oak's family being an almost noble family of pallet town makes so much sense, the oaks being a long line of battlers and gary being the best of the trainers coming out of pallet just made ash an even underer under dog then he was in the show! Not to mention oak's grandpa could maybe be show up in a legends game as maybe one of the first champions in an established pokemon league. And ash's father and maternal grandfather being failures makes sense why delia never mentions them and ash not knowing or having any attachment to them shows why he never really talks about them. Shame secerts of the jungle seems to imply Ash's dad was around in someway more in his life with ash referencing him, I feel like that could have easily been a line about delia telling ASh what his father used to say but with secerts taking place in an altered reality and this being 25 years after this novel the new people on pokemon probably never read up on the paticulars on ash's family and it probably isn't in the show's bible anymore

Love the pokemon world, best fantasy world ever! But i dunno the part where they said 10 year olds can get married if they want, makes sense but I can't help but cringe knowing what i know about our world but this is a fantasty world
