I actually got the Shield version of the two expansion packs, they're pretty good!

I liked Sword and Shield too, Suede.

Did I play this, he asks. Among the commenters here, you're talkin' to someone who not only played it but beat it multiple times! I usually added most of the Sextuplets Shadow Pokemon to my arsenal since they're usually pretty good teammates overall. Specifically, I'd grab the Spheal, the Houndour, the Seedot, the Baltoy and the Mareep, though I make sure to catch Gulpin as well. The overall roster changes obviously, but they're all pretty useful for your playthrough, especially in the early game.

For playing Gamecube games on a Mac, I recommend downloading Dolphin. It's the same core that OpenEmu uses, but the standalone app gives you a LOT more technical control, which quickly becomes necessary for certain games to run at all.

Excited to see you play this, but I'm not sure it's fair to say Colosseum "sucked" or was worse than this game. Mechanically, Colosseum had a lot of problems which XD improves upon, and has better programming. That said, the Orre region in Colosseum had a lot more edge than it does now, and the story is darker and more complex. Somewhere between the two games is a fantastic game, but I'm not sure you could pick one over the other, unless you really favor mechanics over story, or vice versa.
