Yeah, this was my second episode of pokemon, and the pikachu & caterpi scene (and peer pressure from watching these three with friends) meant that I was tempted to turn it off.

What infuriates me about the message of Ash being humbled and needing to take responsibility is the way the episode handled it. The message was a great one, as Ash did need to learn it and having to confront his own flaws as a means of character growth. However, the truth is Ash was also correct in blaming Samurai as everything that happened in the episode was a result of Samurai's actions. Ash failing to catch Weedle and the Beedrill attack causing Ash to separate from Metapod was all Samurai's fault.
