It was a little disappointing to dip in productivity so soon after my mega-month, but I've found that my mood fluctuations seem to go in monthly tides, so let's see if my productivity skyrockets again in August. We can only hope, right? I do have a nice surprise along with the usual commentaries, though!

Anime Jasmine to me is one of the biggest examples of this weird tendency for like the first 3 gens of the anime to always have the Gym Leader by noticeably taller than Ash and any of his traveling companions, along with Whitney. Design-wise Jasmine should Probably be around Brock's height if not shorter (and Brock was also a Gym Leader so it'd work fine), and Whitney is noted in the game for how young she is for a Gym Leader and yet she's as tall as any other adult in the show. I guess they want the Gym Leaders to feel like authority figures so they try to make them look more like adults, or maybe they scale all the Gym Leaders to Lt. Surge's 10'6'' frame, I dunno.

One thing to nitpick, Suede: the first Battle Tower WAS in Pokemon Crystal. Right outside Olivine City, in fact, so that's quite game-accurate.

Something I should tell you about an earlier episode that me and a friend of mine discovered while watching the Japanese episodes of Pokémon. In EP169, Jynx appeared in the Japanese version, but the dub trimmed a bit of the shot out (only a little bit can be seen). I told Dogasu about this and he updated the Jynx in animation page
