Chapter 37: What is the Missions Menu?

“Fucking finally! Oh great super system, I want to spend my skill point on getting a faster reaction time!” Lucas said.

“I feel nothing,” Lucas said.
“Because you were too vague. If you had said something like visual reaction time, maybe you would see a significant improvement. You said general reaction time. That fits everything that has to do with the nerves system. Even hearing, touch, etc. So you’re not gonna see shit from that,” Brian said. “At least that’s my theory.”
“Fuck me,” Lucas said.
“Okay, my turn! System, I want to spend my mental skill point on a magical second brain I can outsource thinking to!”
Nothing happened.
“Okay that was too much to hope for with only one point. Lemme think… I want to spend my mental skill point on something that increases my visual capacity. I have the enhanced vision skill and I want something to reinforce it mentally!”

“Ohhhhh shiiiiiiiit!” Brian said.
They discussed it for a bit.
“But then, why didn’t it just do the same for that mental brian think you asked for?” Jack said.
“Maybe because it was more vague and magical and he had no matching skills?” Lucas said.
“Perhaps. Anyways, let’s get back to grinding. Let's practise shooting these balloons and then we go to the wolf zone and kill them,” Brian said.
“But it’ll take me two days to make a siege engine?” Jack said.
“With no siege engine,” Brian said.
“You wanna get killed?” Jack said.
“We should be fine. And even if we aren’t, we are covered in armor. We’ll be fine. We can use those spear circles we made, maybe they’re still there,” Brian said.

Grinding with assault rifles required a different formation from using melee weapons.
On their left hips they each had their combat knives. On their right hips, they had their handguns. And in their hands, they had their assault rifles. On their backs, they had their big bags with supplies and space for loot.
From head to toe, they were covered in black Kevlar, except for their eyes. And on top of their heads they had metal helmets.
They walked in a somewhat close formation in a line.
“Here’s one! I’ll take it!” Lucas said.
He shot and missed. On the fifth shot he hit.
Lucas had one hand with no fingers and his dominant hand and dominant eyes were on the wrong sides of each other, so it was hard for him to aim. He had to squint weirdly to hit something.
A Balloon Monster appeared on Jack’s side. Jack was to the left, Lucas to the right, and Brian in the middle.
Brian’s marksmanship didn’t help him with assault rifles, but he was still better than everyone else at aiming.
Jack aimed, and took a shot. He missed. He took another shot and hit. The bullet tore through the balloon and he heard a loud POP, as it exploded into leather pieces.
“Fucking loud, the gunshots and the balloons,” Lucas said. “I might need an anti-tinnitus skill soon. Jesus christ.”
“Maybe we should have bought you a shotgun, easier for you to aim with that,” Brian said mockingly. Thanks to his body language skill it was twice as apparent to Lucas recently hearing all the sarcastic comments thrown at him.
“That’s actually a good idea. Also, fuck you,” Lucas said.
“When you gonna buy that skill you were talking about back in the motel room, Jack?” Brian said.
“I’ll leave you in suspense until tonight before we sleep. Let’s just get some grinding in for now,” Jack said.
They went over to the big wolf zone to start grinding there. They saw that the spear circles were still intact but starting to fall apart. They moved from spear circle to spear circle in formation.
Lucas was in the back of the formation and Brian in the front.
As soon as a big wolf rushed towards them, Lucas got nervous and sprayed and emptied his clip on the wolf.
“You scared?” Jack said.
“Go fuck yourself,” Lucas said.
“Don’t chew off your nails,” Jack said.
“Good one,” Brian said.
“Suck my dick,” Lucas said.
Life was a lot easier with assault rifles. But they had to head back to the balloon monster zone. The problem was reloading time. There would always be some wolf rushing towards them while they were reloading. So they had to have two people always on guard and ready to shoot. But even then, it was stressful. So they went back.
It was now night.
“Okay. I’m gonna get my skill now. Super system, I want to spend my skill point on this. When you took me to that summon, you showed me there is more to you. I want to spend my skill point on unlocking more of the game menu!” Jack said.

Main course mplaint is that everything is just too easy for them. They reek of plot armor. For instance in the above comment who the hell is buying raw silk from random hoodlums. It’s certainly not a pawn shop. Same with the balloon leather; at first it read like it was a processed loot drop but nothing else has that so why the hell would a pawn shop buy a bunch of presumably face-bearing popped leather balloons? Can’t imagine them buying bulk leather in the first place. It continues in that trend, too many things just ‘work out’ off screen. Honestly though the biggest one is how are they still alive. I’ve known these kind of shitheads before, these are not the sort of people who can seriously intimidate. They’re bottom feeders, like you even pointed out they prey on the homeless. Now I’m supposed to believe they’re intimidating a bunch of regular folks and gangsters who have become monster hunters? They would have been gunned down as soon as they started shit in the plaza. And a dozen other times. They need some realistic consequences for how they’re acting instead of being protected by plot convenience.

I think there a problem because we don't see how Jack Brian Lucas how they bays assault rifle and how they got the money I know form Silk sale but no wander where silk come or why there increase in Weapons sale and increase sales in Pawn Shop and I think Merchant character that discover the game by the increase sales and some stupid tray sales skills crystal
