🕑 Added 2021-08-01 17:41:46 +0000 UTCI am almost ready to put out a release candidate that should mitigate the freezing problems that some of you are experiencing, particularly after the DLSS update. It should be no more than a day or two away.
In the meantime, I would like to have a quick hardware poll to help me allocate development resources in the future. I already know from the Steam hardware survey that only about 15% of gamers use AMD video cards, but I suspect that number may be even lower when restricting the sample to VR users.
If you have more than one PC, for example a laptop and a desktop, please choose the answer that relates to the PC that you typically use for VR.

I’m a Mac Pro 2019 using bootcamp on an AMD Radeon Pro 580x. I know I’m a small percentage but thankful I can run it.
I guess since others are sharing their setup I'll share mine. I have a 5900x and 3080 with 32GB of RAM at 3400MHz. I tried 3600MHz but it was unstable. It's barely a month old. I upgraded from a 4790K and 1080 Ti. It's definitely more powerful than what I had, by quite a bit, but it's not the massive jump I was expecting. Still happy with it though.

Nice work Luke, thanks. I have a Nvidia RTX 3070 on my main VR machine. I do get some jitters but touch wood haven't had a crash yet.

Got an alienware r12 with 3080 gpu. I do get freezes sometimes depends what resolutions im using. And in video memory i try to keep it below 3,400. Most of my seetings in game are medium or low

Which preset are you using, and what frame rates do you get with the 6700 XT?
More like, what card can you even get right now. 5950x with 6700xt actually does good with RDR2 VR. It beats my Nvidia system because I haven't been able to get a 3080.

BTW I use a 1080 Ti. So, it doesn’t have much to do with DLSS

The freezing issue has been a nag. I have one freeze every 2 hrs on the average. I rarely have freezing when I don’t use the game full map, so there may be some relationship. There was also one mission which froze every time in the same cut-scene, so I had to disable VR to get through it.

Tried upgrading from GTX 1660 Super to an AMD 6800 XT. Had to return it because it sucked for VR. Many issues. Got a RTX 3080 instead.
Nvidia 3060 gpu and AMD Ryzen 5000 series cpu.
