Regarding immigrants taking jobs away for decades immigrants have been doing the job especially in the food service industry that most Americans won't do. Remember the essential works in the fields and in the meat packing plants. covid or not. they had to keep working to send money home. Ever pick strawberries for below minimum wage? Why do we have cheap food. Todays food inflation is not because we're paying anyone mostly immigrants a living wage.

Helps me have some laughs at Our principle shared issues 🫠🫠🫠 Did want to shout out and say there's a few episodes of a phenomenal podcast called 'Ear Hustle' that interviews inmates of San Quentin (not surprisingly where Black August marked a statute of revolutionary theory). They discuss several training programs (including firefighting) where several of the previously incarcerated people have moved into after they are released. You are correct that they are not paid for the training which is indeed still slavery as they are doing a job. However, saying these people are untrained is a misunderstanding that takes away the agency of incarcerated people who went through the programs. Cause the programs are as prestigious and sometimes combined with local unit training. It is an important to distinguish. Love y'all's show. Really appreciate all your work and definitely recommend Ear Hustle. I'll see if I can find the specific episode and send along.
