What is the rate per hour for CNC machining today?
Steven Cox
never lend a trailer to someone imo, i let a family member borrow mine and it did 5000kms when it was supposed to be doing 100kms, anyway long story short the wheel from the back left went past me doing 100km/h near my home, luckily no one was hurt, just the wheel, axel and sheet metal on the wheel guard!
Watch Wes Work
She knows the drill!
Watch Wes Work
We'll see how clapped out soon.
Watch Wes Work
Me too!
Watch Wes Work
This is a big plus!
Watch Wes Work
No, it's just a little too far gone to trust on a long trip.
Watch Wes Work
It's coming. I swear.
Watch Wes Work
We've been there several times now. It's always a good trip.
Watch Wes Work
I should do a formal survey.
Watch Wes Work
I think you're being too generous!
Watch Wes Work
It's coming along. I wish I was faster.
Watch Wes Work
I used to have access to an old 444. That thing would lift more than I ever thought possible, but it was sketchy.
Watch Wes Work
I try to when I can. I'm not organized enough to always pull it off.
Watch Wes Work
It has become a lot easier. CAD systems are very sophisticated. The Hurco control is also supposed to be good for writing simple programs.

Excited for this series!

I grew up in Milwaukee. That zoo was excellent then, and every time I've gone back it's been better. Cool that the kiddo & Mrs. Wes got to see it. Oh, yeah - congrats on the new toy, too. :)
Sean Baumer
Im sorry to hear about Clinton, IA I lived in Davenport until 1988 never thought I would hear my state mentioned with the words male ponytail.
Sean Baumer
It takes a certain amount of risk taking and daring to move machinery by yourself with less that optimal equipment.
David Yates
I did chuckle when you did the forklift wheelie in the doorway - good job you had pre-installed the warning sticker on the old Clarke!
James Riordan
You may need to put a fanny pack on your lift truck if you need to move the Hurricane again - wow, balance point indeed !
Russell Wall
Very cool!! I love my manual lathe and mill. I’m looking forward to seeing you get the tool changer working (and what the issue is) as well as what your first project will be. Lots of changes in the shop, but all improvements!!
Anthony deFreitas
Old school Wes video 👍
StarWatcher
Luck due to planning, then just plain luck!! Wow, rocking forklift!!!!!!
Kowyn Hibbert (Warrior of the Rusty Wrench)
When you uploaded the CNC machine it very much reminded me of moving some gargantuan boulders at work with the old JD 644, she'll do it but you have to do it on 2 wheels and the fuel tank better be right full haha.
CapnMac82
Unlike certain NYS types, never did a wheelie with the forklift--so, really that was pretty good operation with care and consideration. So, how complicated is it to program machining operations? Back in the 90s the touch part was getting various "solid" CAD/CAM modelels into usable G-code. All the tedious bit os dropping in flags to operators about tool changes where necessary, or any jig/clamp adjustments.

Thank you for giving us early access to your videos. This will definitely help Patreon retention.

Lol, "doesn't sound the greatest" maybe if you were playing wheel of fortune 😂
Keith Krieger
Glad to see you’ve been working on the shop. Maybe… someday… install those two new lifts?
Daniel Guyer
I was gad to see you weren"t hauling it with a "clapped out" red Ford pickup!
Dr. Internet
Congrats on the new machine, Wes. Glad you didn't die whilst unloading it!! Happy Easter to you and your family!
Christopher
Excited to see this thing in action!
Tom Hollowell
You may be for first human to use the words “clapped out CNC machine” in the same sentence. I was kinda looking forward to rust holes, bondo, and a massive oil leak.
Logan Swanson
Your wife talking about calling 911 when you had the machine on the forklift cracked me up. She’s just waiting for a major catastrophe. Moving that big thing seems quite the challenge.
Thomas Scheumann
My Grandpa always wore a belt AND suspenders………….better safe than sorry!
Watch Wes Work
I have some HD furniture dollies. I'll bust them out in the next video.
Watch Wes Work
I have a phase converter.
Watch Wes Work
I don't know what will happen with it.
Watch Wes Work
OK. I didn't have any time to really plan.
Watch Wes Work
That sounds fine, but it implies you have to mow...
Watch Wes Work
Mine too!
Greg G.
Hi Wes, I'm assuming that you have 3 phase in your shop?
Greg
Any dust cap in a storm, ezlube maybe an upgrade, but the hubs are all the same so if the trailer manufacturer is only going to stock one type, better be universal.. Looks like you bagged a good deal on the Hurco, we have a 93 Mitsubishi Dynamechtronics with a Meldas M3 control, thing is a real trooper, this last year we added an M function and through spindle coolant real country style, uses the flood coolant pump and a used drill coolant inducer mounted on the top of the pull stud, few relays, a couple solenoid and check valves to keep the coolant and air from mixing and its really quite effective, (we drill a lot of holes in mild steel with insert drills) Good luck with the toolchanger they can be a trick, don't forget to back up your macros once you get it going!
Rod Richeson
You just need a couple of furniture Dolly’s from harbor freight…. Way to go Clark forklift
Michele Crown
Wow...that little forklift that sat in the weeds for 17 years earned its propane today. I see your shop morphing away from auto repair. Looking forward to your journey.
Terry Kasprzyk
If you're ever in Milwaukee again and get in a bind let me know.
Watch Wes Work
Good idea!
Watch Wes Work
Interesting. I wonder how they ended up on these hubs.
Watch Wes Work
Supposedly it can run "normal" g code. I guess we'll see how normal it is.
Watch Wes Work
Not yet.
Watch Wes Work
The guys who sold it had a beautiful Cat lift that set it right where I wanted it.
Watch Wes Work
Still here.
Watch Wes Work
I didn't think about that.
Watch Wes Work
It was not a good idea in hindsight.
Watch Wes Work
It's so nice. I've packed a zillion bearings by hand. I can do 10 with the packer in the time I do 1 by hand.
Watch Wes Work
Someday. Thanks!
Watch Wes Work
I know what you mean...
Watch Wes Work
Ouch! It's a 2014 with 350,000 miles.
Greg
that little rubber cap is for a dexter easy lube style axle, the sort with a zerk fitting in the end of the spindle you pump grease in and it comes out between the inner bearing and hub seal and in theory flushes all the old grease out through the outer bearing and gets caught in the cup where you can scoop it out and chuck it. In my experience they work pretty well, certainly better than a "bearing buddy" that packs from the outside with no where for the grease to go.
Darran
Looks like fusion 360 has a couple of posts for hurco https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://cam.autodesk.com/posts/posts/guides/Hurco_autodesk.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwijiLPLvp6FAxWAX0EAHSubDh0QFnoECA8QAQ&usg=AOvVaw0daxpf4FolyyrSrbNLcXOq

Congrats on the "new" cnc. Have fun with it !!!
Darran
They are a bit different to program but not so bad once you get used to it. Like the new truck, has the old one gone to the scrapyard in the sky?
Terry Kasprzyk
You were in my neck of the woods. To bad I didn't know. I could have helped you load it up. Retired guys are always looking for something to do.
Maurice Johnson
Great Buy Wes ! Can't wait for what's next. Now I gotta go reglue the magnets in my Kohler V-twin Cub Cadet. !!
Alan Wood
That lift off the trailer made my ears itch.
rvdns11
Congrats for your new toy! Is the red Ford truck gone yet?
Max Chaplin
Nice video Wes. I particularly liked the ratchet strap on the back of the forklift unload manoeuvre and I'm very much hoping for a future 'Let's dial the sketchiness back a little bit' t shirt for these occasions 😂. Cant wait for part II 🍻.
Asbjørn Kvisle
You should add a Kent to the name of the forklift after that one! You should be able to find operating hours on the Yaskawa, doesn't help if it has been changed though.
Max Chaplin
Likewise. A lifetime ago, when I had more hair, I worked for a fork truck manufacturer and I always used to have the beginnings of an emotionally significant moment when moving stuff high off the ground if the rear wheels went light when we were testing them.
Carson Zimmerman
I know you know what you're doing, but i won't lie, i might've been a LITTLE bit puckered when you were unloading that thing... what a champ of a forklift. Great stuff as always
Jeff Chandler
Love that bearing packer! That’s my kind of machine!
Jamie Pilkey
Happy to support impulse purchases that are cool like this! If you ever decided to add a higher tier to the Patreon, I would gladly pay more.
Mark Peterson
I have a 2012 ram 3500 4x4 that the front drive line went out and it destroyed my transmission, transmission heat exchanger, fuel lines and frame. If I could send pictures of it I would
Daniel Clawson
I look forward to the second round of fix/repair on this in about a year.
Watch Wes Work
There will be a whole video about it eventually.
Mark Peterson
What year is your ram 3500? And what issues have you had with it?
Rodney Juste
Happy to help add to the toy collection . Great content as always looking forward to the journey to first chips
