On the plus side I have found at least several cool rocks of the thousand I've dug up
I can relate to this too much. I got a house that was a landlord special. They dumped all the fill dirt from various projects around the foundation, completely burying it and causing rot in the sill plates from moisture. I had to buy a tiller and loosen and remove at least two inches of soil around the entire house.
