Kate grabbed her first. Night's target was not her, but the clothes. That puts Kate in the wrong. Plus essentially she was holding onto stolen property and even attempting extortion by telling Night to leave. Kate is very, very far from innocent here.

Can't believe I'm defending Kate but for once in her life she did literally nothing wrong in this interaction. Night escalated the situation way too much. From Kate's perspective, what Night said when the latter went to nab Fur's coat from her was indicative of being open to start a fight. Even though we all know Night wouldn't start a fight in front of Fur, it's understandable why Kate would believe the complete opposite. Tldr: Kate hit first, but Night started it.

It’s not healthy. However, I personally see it as Night overcorrecting and being overly-protective of Fur. Hopefully Night get her shit kicked in by a human is the wake up call for Fur to stand up for herself, especially since she’s probably the physically strongest person in that entire school.
