For those keeping score, I have not left Kansas City since late 2018, and then COVID happened, and I haven't left my house for anything more than doing an errand (except possibly one time, because I can't remember when it happened, when I had one of those psychotic episodes and got really fucking drunk for the first time in years and went to my childhood church to see what it was like and they called the cops and I got out of trouble because, by sheer stupid luck, the church that morning was hosting the wedding of a guy I went to grade school with and haven't seen, or thought of, in probably 25 years, so I could tell the cops I was in the neighborhood and saw it was his wedding and stepped in to pay my respects)
recapitulate that sentence: I have not left my house for longer than the time it took to do an errand since the last week of 2020, and mostly I think that was the correct decision, but now, suddenly, I've had to leave my house.
Anyway, I thought I was going to be able to do a show at this place, but now I'm not at all sure that this will be the case, so the show for what I suppose is technically this week, now that it's Sunday – i.e. Friday 8/30 – might have to be on Sunday/Monday if I can't do it here, and I'm guessing I can't do it here.
Sorry, I'd hoped to use one night here on an extra show & then get the normal one done on time, but the layout (inside my brain) is somewhat other than as expected, so I'll do the next one as soon as I can & hopefully still do the extra thing too, presuming I remember what it was, which I can't right now (update: I remembered).

I've been on clonidine for years now. Unfortunately the pacifying effects only last if you take it very, very rarely & disappear almost entirely with prolonged exposure. I'm still on it now because it's really a blood-pressure medication, and I probably have hypertension, and because I don't want to quit any more fucking drugs – be advised that if you take clonidine regularly for any length of time & then suddenly stop, your blood pressure will spike like all hell & foul things will happen, which in my case meant the most unbelievably painful eye-bursting bone-splitting migraine of my life

Michael, while I never was on junk for extended times, I have been subjected to most psychiatric drugs at this point. What recently stood out to me was Clonodin and the way it abso fucking lutely pacified and lobotomized me at 100 micrograms. And while this isn't a state either of us is looking for, I am at least positive that this shit does something in my neurons which results in not going insane by manically thinking in circles and wanting to off myself. I read that it works for people suffering from intrusive thoughts, opioid withdrawal and anxiety, so personally I'll stay on that shit for now but maybe quarter my dose and work up from there. Maybe this stuff could be helpful for you, too, maybe not. Take care

A church calling the cops on a person who needs help is so on point. I couldn't listen to your last episode as someone who has 2 half Palestinian sisters and a Palestinian step dad and just having empathyfor any person in general. It fucked me up in the first 10 minutes and I was crying and had to turn it off. You're dealing with a lot of shit. Insh'Allah you will be OK. Witnessing a genocide is horrific and dealing with all that comes from a lack of dopamine stimulator like drugs or just general goodness adds to the bullshit. Thank you for putting a spotlight on these issues but don't burn yourself out or feel bad for things beyond your control like the venue. You seem like you have a beautiful soul and that is hard to maintain in this violent world.

Michael, hope this doesn’t ruin your day. Maybe you already know this. I was listening to a pod about Islamophobia and came across something that I feel belongs in the 4th Reich microfiche. The Vught concentration camp (built 42-43) in Holland is open both as a Holocaust museum and as a prison. This prison houses mostly migrants, refugees, and « terror suspects » I.e. Muslims.
