Same in Europe with Sahara dust, sometimes falling with the rain. It's actually good for soils it seems.

Apparently, the dust really is dust, but the pollution is more scary, isn't it. Bad neighbors to have.

Is "dust" a euphemism for regular old, nasty, Chinese air pollution? As in, PM 2.5? I spent two weeks in Beijing, and was coughing for 3 months afterward. Horrible stuff. Last July the smoke from the Canadian wild fires made it all the way over to Europe. So, that stuff can travel quite a ways.
