When my dad was stationed on Guam (1961-64), we sponsored an exchange student from Chi Chi Jima. She came to us when she was in high school (no high school on the island at that time). She was hafu. She had a Western father and a native Chi Chi Jiman woman (Japanese, in sure). and she WAS beautiful. Oh my god, was she beautiful! Anyway, it was really interesting living with her. What a sweet, gentle soul. We loved her, and then when we were transferred back to the States, we sent for her and put her through college here.
