🕑 Added 2020-07-31 18:22:11 +0000 UTCThe MCC version of this mod is definitely out of date. They have changed how mod support works a lot in the last year or so. I think you can just use the Halo Custom Edition version of the mod now instead and that will work fine. IDK. Look it up I guess haha.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection
Instructions
- Download and install Halo MCC. ( The steam version is easier to mod )
- Run the game and make sure you have Halo 1 downloaded and installed.
- Close the game.
- Download the mod: https://20xx.io:501/files/DesertWarthog-MCC.zip
- Open the MCC install directory:
For Steam : Right click on MCC in your steam library, hit properties, pick 'local files' then 'browse local files'.
For Windows Store : Navigate to 'C:\Program Files\ModifiableWindowsApps\HaloMCC'. This folder is likely going to be protected and you will have to give yourself permissions in order to edit anything in this folder. Google should be able to help you with that.
- Once you have the folder open, extract all the files from DesertWarthog-MCC .zip and copy the folders "halo1" and "data" into your MCC install directory.
- Windows will ask you to merge and overwrite files, select yes.
- Load up MCC with 'anticheat disabled' and if you did everything right, your Bloodgulch will now be replaced with Desert Warthog.

If you are using this version I kind of expect that you know how to install a mod.
I included a copy of the latest chimera, and an init.txt to automatically adjust the default FOV and video settings of the game. If you don't want those things just copy the map only.

Does this still work? Whenever I replace the files in my mcc steam install folder, the map name changes to desert warthog but loads up regular Blood Gulch. I'm following the directions to a T. Thanks!

That doesn’t work. But downloading on mobile does so I can download it on mobile then put it on google drive then make that public maybe.

1. The Ultima/Godhog are really buggy and the only way you can get into them is with console commands. If you want to mess with them you can decompile the map and edit the tags for them. 2. I don't remember off the top of my head. Some variant on (unit_enter_vehicle ) 3. It doesn't sync in multiplayer so it's not on the map. Randomess and networking don't play nice generally.

Hey, very fun mod! My friend and I are playing on MCC on Steam and had a few questions; 1. We have been trying to get into the Ultima Hog using in game methods. We successfully got into Giga Hog so far, but every time we try to get near Ultima Hog, we will sporadically die at different times. It seems like the only place Ultima Hog spawns is out in the desert where there are death barriers. Is there any rhyme or reason to driving out to the Ultima Hog without dying randomly, or is it purposely placed in a spot where it is 100% impossible to naturally get in and drive on your own? We have a method of catapulting up to it that works very well, problem is we just can't survive near it long enough to pull it off. 2. If it's not possible naturally, what cheats would we have to use to make it possible? 3. Is the Spas Hog somewhere in this map? -Thanks for your time with this!

The actual longest one is so long that it won't work right in multiplayer. I think the longest one in the map is the version 10 or something. The longer ones are compiled in but not used by default.

I didn't include a first person version for this one unfortunately. You could mod it in though with a bit of effort.

How do I get the longest possible hog? I want my gunner to be so far back that I die before he knows that I'm being attacked.

A lot of them are on the map but scattered around on side roads. The really really big hogs and stuff are not really driveable since they are so big though.

i'm on mcc(steam) how do i get the wide and big hogs to spawn?

The first 2 big hogs are driveable and on the map. The 3rd and 4th are on the map but you need cheats to get into them because of how big they are. The 5th one is so big it can't respawn properly so it's on the map but not enabled.

Loved the video, the Mega Hog made me think of Toy Story 2. How was it doing the mod for MCC? Was there further complications compared to the original Halo PC?
