This is what I've been working on over the last couple of days. Since it's geting colder, I felt like painting something snowy. It's partly inspired by the bath house in Spirited Away and partly by the beautiful Onsen in Obanazawa, Japan. And I wanted the character to appear like a personification of snow.
My original plan was to go with a very vibrant colour palette (which you can see my working on in our last livestream - link in previous post), but ultimately, I decided that it didn't capture the mood that I had in mind. I wanted something more muted and faded. I mostly work with stronger colours, so going more muted is definitely a challenge for me. But I definitely enjoyed working with all these different shades of grey. I hope you like it!
