Any Mac users?
🕑 Added 2024-03-28 03:15:09 +0000 UTCHey guys,
Do any of you play the game on Mac? If so, could one of you explain how you do this once the file has been downloaded? I don't use a mac and don't know anyone that has one and I can't seem to get a straight answer from google or chatgpt.
Thanks!

Yeah, my dislike comes from a purely ignorant place lol. I just don’t know anything about them.

Heh the best computer I ever had was a 2016ish macbook pro running windows...was best of both worlds...too bad the bootcamp days are over.

After downloading the Ren'Py 8.2.1 dmg file from the official site, I extract the folder to the desktop. The game folder I downloaded I put it in the Ren'Py 8.2.1 folder that I extracted to my desktop (not in a zip form), then I open the renpy.app application in the Ren'Py 8.2.1 folder. I start the project as I create the project file. The game is in front of me.
Sure, Not
I have an M1 Mac, I haven't played the game on it though.

Good to know, thanks again!

You're welcome. One other bit I remembered is sometimes the app won't work so you have to use the Terminal utility app to get the game to open. Terminal lets you type in commands, in this case to force the OS to let the program open.

That's great information, thanks a lot!

Opening it for the first time usually prompts the question "....... has been downloaded from the internet, Are you sure you want to open?" Then you can select Yes or Cancel. I assume this is the same for the latest version of OS X but I'm like a version or 2 behind so can't be certain.

Ok, so it doesn't say anything about the developer not being verified?

After downloading I use the default Archive Utility program to extract the app. Once finished the it's ready to play.
