Release update
🕑 Added 2024-04-12 16:26:06 +0000 UTCHey everyone, I'm sure you're all anxiously waiting for the release of chapter four and I want to set some expectations based on how things are going.
As always, it's hard to predict when things will be done when you're working on something like this. Things are taking longer than anticipated. I feel like to get this all buttoned up and ready for pre-release I'm going to need about another week or so. As each scene gets finalized, I always want to add renders, redo renders, make changes etc in order to make it as good as I would like. I'm not going to release something that I don't feel is ready. I know this pisses a lot of people off since I had said previously that it would be mid April when the first pre-release would be ready.
So, I am expecting things to be ready in a week or a little over a week from now. I just want you all to know how much I appreciate you, even if you aren't a paid member. Supporting me in any way really means a lot. After chapter four is done I'm going to take a look at making my Patreon content more structured and predictable. I want to have content for all tiers on a regular basis and especially start releasing more content for free members because you guys are a huge part of this effort as well. So look out for weekly updates and teaser images for the free members as well as more exclusive stuff for the paid tiers.
That's all for now, I'll send out another general post once the first pre-release is ready.

Your game is very well done. I am supporting you as a creator first, not when an update comes early or late. If all I wanted was the game I would wait till it is finished and buy it. Most of us understand that. And support you for your excellent creativity and quality of the game being produced. I trust your judgement when an update is ready or not.

No worries, things happen that make it difficult to set deadlines on these types of projects. From a creative standpoint, I'm the same way, I tend to push myself to do something better, or I'll rethink something and realize that it would be better like this rather than that. Sometimes we're our own worst critics, and while there are assholes out there, most of the time communication with your audience is all that's necessary to keep the wolves at bay. Personally, I would prefer something that reaches or goes above the bar rather than something rushed and half-assed. So no worries and thanks for the communication.

Your release schedule is perfectly fine. There are some excellent games that manage a relatively short release once or twice a year, that's not good enough, your's is well within limits for the quality. Some small teams try to hit artificial deadlines and the quality shows as a result. You are an artist and you must meet your personal artistic needs if your'e going to survive long term, thick skin, do it your way etc, you just can't please us all. Especially don't drive the story faster than you wish, the community always want faster and faster. The advertising shoot was beyond awesome. Just scraping the line of believable while ticking almost every box on the list, within the story it's brilliant along with all the slow burning buildups on the way. This game is going in great directions.
