Dev log for August 24, 2024

I mean to get these out every week, but I always seem to miss the mark on that and I apologize for my tardiness. There's not too much to report, which can be a good thing when you're balancing so many things at once. I haven't had any setbacks or any life incidents that have taken up my development time thankfully. I want to thank my wonderful wife for being so understanding since I started working on this game. She is my real life Kathryn...minus the zaniness that goes on in this game, haha!
One thing I've been thinking about lately are animations. I have been working on them a lot and I'm struggling with it unfortunately. They look great mind you, it's just that I simply have too many in the game so far. If I change every animation to full motion video, the current size of the game would be over 5gb! I think what I'll do is pick and choose which animations to overhaul and keep most of them as transition based. Some look a lot better now, but others aren't really worth the increase in file size. I'll keep tinkering with it and think about it some more. I just wanted you all to know it's something I'm still working on.
Chapter six is going to be a bit more efficient and have less renders, but the amount of content should be roughly the same. I kind of went overboard with the renders last time and gave myself unnecessary work. I'm trying to plan a bit more when it comes to the rendering and not just blindly go at it, which is what I have done in the past. I'm really excited about the scenes in this update. I have included a render for one of my favorite scenes I've done so far. I have a huge smile on my face the whole time I'm working on it. Exhibitionism fans should love it.
Anyway, that's about it for now. Thanks again to everyone that continues to support me. I know those of you who stay subscribed and I really appreciate it so much. And for those of you who just subscribe to get the updates and immediately unsubscribe, I thank you as well because those months are where it all pays off and I can breathe a sigh of relief that I'll be able to afford to work on the next update. I'll be posting some nsfw teasers for the paid members soon so look out for those.

Yeah if you think it would be too much extra work than you have time for then don't worry about it, but it definitely would be something cool to see. A Kathryn with implants would be even sexier than she is now 😍😍

Well I am a fan of big fake boobs so I'm biased towards that, maybe do it as an option but only if you've got time to do both path choices (one with implants and one without)

Just started playing the game and was wondering if there's any chance of a choice for Kathryn to get breast implants, just read the line of her wondering if she should get a boob job and I was wondering if that'll be an option later on?

Yeah, so from my game, the Soumya animation was 400+ frames and was 6 MB for the .webm... it is really small. It is massive if you make the video directly in Daz.

What’s the file size of one of your animations? Currently my transition animations are about 1.5mb to 3mb. I have dozens of them so it really adds up if they are replaced by videos. But yeah I’d love if you made a video about it. I’m always up for learning new things.

Animations are tough as nails. I buy the animations and then modify as needed. When I make the videos, I render as still image pngs in Daz, then covert that to a .webm video in Adobe Premiere. They are quite small that way, and I haven't seen any meaningful drop in resolution. I bet if you did it that way, you wouldn't have a 5GB game. If you wanted me to make a video for you, I'd be willing so you don't have to buy an Adobe license off the bat. As I have said, just make the game you want and you will be fine.

In my opinion, you have done a great job since The East Block came out. Don't stress over the animations much. You can always rework and improve on that later. Your true fans and supporters appreciate your awesome work, Bobbyboy! So, keep at it! 👍

Agree with these guys. I would rather have some more content than a very time consuming "ok" animation. The hot story is wat counts!

Hey man don't even worry about the animations, the game stands on its own without them. I'm sure I speak for most of us when I say we care more that you don't get burnt out on doing tedious animating, Cant wait to see more of this scene!

Sure, if making animations gives you relief from the regular rendering process of production, then go for it. Just don’t feel like you have to add them or your game will suffer - you came this far, and we’re still here. Just get us more Kathryn!

Yeah, I'm not spending too much time on it right now. But I'll pop in a few proper animations here and there along the way and then probably retrofit them in after it's done like you said. Thanks Mijo.

If you feel working on animations takes up too much time & energy from you, then don’t bother. The game is great as is, and you can always go back and add them if you ever go for the Steam release, or just as a post-finishing update if you find the inspiration.
