Dev Log - March 23, 2025

Time for a quick dev log before I dive back into work!
I’ve been putting in long hours over the past few weeks, pushing hard to make sure everything in Chapter 7 looks and plays exactly the way I envision it. That said, this chapter has been especially demanding when it comes to post work. A lot of the scenes involve tricky assets and lighting setups, and as anyone familiar with Daz Studio knows, rendering is only half the battle. Post-processing in Photoshop (or GIMP) is often necessary to clean things up, things like hair or clothing clipping through bodies, or strange specular highlights that don’t look right in the final shot. Depending on the complexity of the scene, that post work can pile up fast.
On top of that, I made a dumb mistake during one of the scenes where a character ends up wearing two different outfits in the same sequence. So yeah, I had to go back, reload a bunch of scenes, fix the wardrobe, and re-render dozens of images one by one. Loading scenes alone can take a few minutes each, so that whole process cost me quite a bit of time. Definitely kicking myself for that one. All that said, progress is solid. I’d say I’m about 90% done with Chapter 7 and anticipate a release right near the end of the month.
I know this update has taken a long time and gain, I’m sorry about that. The scope of the scenes has expanded a lot compared to the earlier chapters, and that’s a reflection of how my skills (and my vision for the game) have grown. It’s a double-edged sword: the ambition keeps me motivated and creatively fulfilled, but it also increases the amount of work each update requires. If I had stayed in the same lane I was in a year ago, I could probably push out updates faster, but the quality, depth, and creativity would suffer, and that’s not something I’m willing to compromise.
That said, I know it’s been nearly five months since the last main game update, and that’s too long. I mentioned this in the last dev log, and I’m sticking to it, I’ve been taking concrete steps to streamline development for future updates without cutting corners on quality or content.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts there. It is a hard consideration, expecially for perfectionists. I find myself often trying to get everything at 100% or even 110% of my possibilities and do lose a big amount of time and will-strenght instead of going for 90% and call it even. For me, when it comes to VN, a story is almost always much more important than the image quality - if you have better images than Super Mario's Peaches on the Game Boy ;) . But I can understand that you want to deliver graphically as well and that there are others that feast on that bling-bling more than on the story. I would just suggest: Try to cut your image quality down to 90% - still very good - and cut development times in half ;) . I doubt that a third layer of reflections on her toe-nails will be even discovered by the usual player doing his thing while reading the dialogue :D . (I know it is a "little" exaggerated and most surely, you also try to do this. But I think it is what many games suffer from: exorbitant development times in the search for visual perfection. On the other hand, your argument that this is what keeps you creative energy goin is a valid one, too :) . Looking forward to the next installment of your really good game!

I can't say for certain (only Bobby could) but from what I've seen of the game code it could potentially lock you out of future scenes with THAT character, but locking you out of scenes with OTHER characters seems unlikely. Also I don't think it would require much extra dev time for avoiding certain characters, if you completely turn down the last Flasher scene then the game just jumps to the same renders of Luke and Kath leaving the alley, with different text over the top to recontextualize their escape into "Glad you didn't do anything with that guy Kath, let's get out of this alley now" (paraphrasing).

Kathryn is going to be the best hotwife. Also, I wouldn't worry too much about dev time Bobby, I mean most of the games I play get one maybe two updates a year, but you've already released six chapters plus the Halloween special since November 2023.

I can only say it again and again, I love this game and I support you from the bottom of my heart and I think everyone can wait a little longer because we know that we will get the best from you in return. I can hardly wait to see Kathryn again. <3:)

Because I enjoy it. I'm not saying I will deny a scene, but I feel that now that Kathryn has had sex with a stranger already, we shouldn't be hindered from doing things with specific characters while possibly avoiding others. The beginning made sense since you had to slowly corrupt her until she did it.

In this and future updates, if I were to choose not to do something with a side character as either Luke or Kathryn, will that hinder me from doing stuff with others moving forward? Asking because a lot of games do that so just wanted to know.

Nothing worth while is easy. The development time for this update has been longer than expected but it’ll be worth it once the updates out. I kinda wish you had a team to help with rendering, but you know that old saying “too many cooks in the kitchen”. So just keep cooking Bobby as fast as you can we’ll be waiting. And thanks for the progress update.
