I love that feeling in summer where after you've spent time in a cool supermarket, you go outside with your shopping and just as you enter the carpark....bam! Hot air.

Wise words. What side of the street we walk on can make a HUGE difference, cant it. Jack.

My top tip for anyone visiting Japan in summer. If you're walking and it's a hot day with clear sky, where possible walk in the shadows of buildings. Seems obvious but many tourists don't. It really can make a difference if you're not wearing sun protection.
