I'm still a bit skeptical of all this "digital transformation" stuff the government is pushing because they've been broadly saying the same things for years, and Suga is very much a continuation of Abe. Anyway, things will eventually change but just very slowly.

Nice one. Makes me think, though... In the West, a signature is really just a scribble. Some are illegible, and others change over time. Aside from a few institutions like banks, where they may occasionally check your signature with a previous sample, you're pretty much free to sign whatever you please. So all this time we've been running our societies on mostly unverified scribbles. Maybe a registered hanko wasn't such a bad idea after all.
