Countryside in Germany: our Gardencenter keeps the plants behind a fence, they can close. But there are big pallets with soil and fertilizer and stuff on the parking lot. Stock due to corona? I suppose that’s too big to take away. But I was amazed though. Still Japan is the safest place on earth when it comes to crime. That’s simply mind blowing!

People in my area (out in the country) will steal anything that isn't nailed down. I've had them come into my yard and take small concrete garden statues.
