Bonus video - Dante's Cove season 2
🕑 Added 2024-12-03 16:15:23 +0000 UTCI'm back with my review of season 2 of our beloved Dante's Cove! This season is bigger and better in every way: More episodes, more Tresum witches, and much more full-frontal nudity.
This video, like the last, is NSFW and age-restricted on YouTube, so you'll have to be logged in to watch it. Here's the direct link if you're having issues watching on Patreon: https://youtu.be/FiqJqC5HapY

Haha this is good to know because I never watched much Arrow! I assumed he must have improved post-Dante's Cove but maybe not. I guess by legitimate I meant "has led a mainstream production people might have heard of" because that's more than you can say for most of the other actors on Dante's Cove š

I know I'm late to the party, but as someone who has seen a good bit of Arrow, hearing you refer to the guy from Arrow as a legitimate actor made me giggle. And I don't mean by that that CW superhero soap operas make you not legitimate (I think Melissa Benoist from Supergirl is actually really good, despite what her performance in Glee might lead you to believe), he's just a terrible actor. Fully a block of wood with no charisma and a complete inability to emote. Everyone around him is trying so hard and he's just * man standing emoji *

Wow I hadn't even noticed! That is a wild set dec choice and has to mean something! Like I said, Ambrosius is kind of constantly associated with sexual violence in both seasons, and with the potential historical connection between that painting and rape I wonder if it was supposed to symbolize something about Kevin/Toby's relationship to Ambrosius and maybe their eventual revenge?? Or more literally, just the idea of seducing someone to kill or harm them? Could be foreshadowing something. I'll definitely keep this in mind going into season 3.

Toby having Artemisia Gentileschi's judith slaying holofernes over his bed is insane (as someone who also has a reproduction of judith slaying holofernes over their bed). Is this thematically relevant to his character? What thought process went into that set design decision?
Jules Inkwell
I recognized Van's actress as Nadine Nicole from the sci fi show "The Expanse"! I love her 2006 rocker girl aesthetic on this show, very Ashley Kerwin and Ellie Nash (later seasons)

I've heard of those, might have to check them out! I was telling another commenter that there was also the vampire Dante's Cove spinoff, The Lair, which could be fun to cover

idk if youād be interested in doing more low budget early 2000s gay media dives but thereās this movie series called āeating outā that this show reminds me a lot of that you might find hilarious. warning: early 2000s humor.

Personally I would've happily bought a 'Haunted Doll That Makes You Gay' novelty figurine!
Air Stratus
It makes sense that he ended up gay, but for some reason a horrible rich straight man deciding to just live at the gay hotel and be mad about it made sense to me. Like yeah thatās a type of republican. In any case itās a real missed opportunity that haunted doll what makes you gay never made a larger debut in pop culture and stock tropes. Itās a real winner

I never watched Queer as Folk but it seems like she's an icon lol

There's a vampire spinoff to Dante's Cove called The Lair.... I feel like there could definitely be something there
