I think you're absolutely right. As much as I love not having to bargain in the US, you kinda have to put your foot down in countries where it can be apparent that you're a foreigner(where bargaining is the culture). Great point about Mexico(and other Latin American countries) as well. The large influx of Chinese and white people that are willing to pay double or triple what locals can afford has run a lot of people, with multiple generations of history, out of their homes.
