General interest in future otome games
🕑 Added 2021-07-10 05:22:23 +0000 UTCTailor Tales won't be the only game I'll be developing, I am planning on more in the future. I've got two ideas, and they're two completely different genres as well as gameplay.
Here's just a very short summary:
1. The dating sim - slice of life
The idea is to be able to fully self-insert and customize your MC. From the way they look, to pronouns, to choosing every single line of dialogue. You will be arranging dates through a dating app and go on short and fun dates you pick out (leftover from Tailor Tales' date mechanics!). Would likely include touching as well. The user is able to indicate their own gender preferences, so you could date an all male cast, or some women included as well.
2. The merchant RPG - fantasy
You're one of the first settlers on an unexplored island. To explore more of the island, you send out mercenaries and explorers. Whether their mission succeeds depends on the clothing and armour you give them. You are able to walk around town and interact with NPCs. You can romance them too, or play cupid and create couples by making them do missions together.
Given these two vague concepts, which would interest you more?

I’m happy to hear that you definitely have plans for the future of your game dev journey!! That said, I think I’d strongly prefer the merchant RPG because the concept reminds me a lot of Stardew Valley (and I love that game)! I wouldn’t mind the dating app otome, it makes me think of a game I tried recently called Lovelink, but I didn’t really like that game tbh (it’s a mobile app game tho, to be fair)… I’d like to imagine if you make that kind of otome game it’d be plenty more interesting with your wonderful writing skills! So, I’d look forward to it all the same!

The Fantasy sounds sooooo cool! But I'm also a sucker for a good dating sim... please tell me it's a matter of which one first and not an either or decision 😭😭 They both sound like such fun experiences

I'm currently playing James' route (which is actually the first route I picked to go through out of all of the current available routes. 😅) I very much, love, love, looove the whole setting/world you created for this one. I think you write reallllly well btw🙌, and both would come off as immersive to me regardless of what you choose. But, if you were gonna do just one or both eventually, 👀 I might just say choose the Merchant one first🤣!! I want to experience another one of your fantastical worlds🌎!! Pretty please 🙏🥺
I'd just like to say, I was completely transported to another realm when playing James route, and I was always sad once I snapped back to reality. I think you have an immense talent for writing. Your creativity really seems to shine through your writing and I look forward to supporting your future work. #teamfantasyrpg
