I don't think it would have failed, though it certainly would have been much harder fought. It might have lasted a decade or two longer. Worst case it lasts until 1800 or maybe later.

I think it lasts several years longer, more Founding Fathers are killed in action, and the term 'Guerilla Warfare' is different in modern times given that it originates from the American Revolution and not the Peninsular War.
