I would probably use a strong red such as blood redAK, Deep redAK or antares red scale75. this in the same way as I painted with pre highlights.

This is fantastic work sir thank you for putting it together. If it was to be more crimson for a flesh tearers or deeper red for word bearers would you have any recommendations on a colour?
