My grocery has like three versions of this, and it ends with me paying $3/lb for quinoa and oats as well as discount spices, 17 yards from where they're priced 3x higher.

But taco spice needs s little bit of starch to get it to bind super well to the meat! Admittedly, I use corn starch not corn meal, and it would not need anywhere near as much if it did, so your point still stands.

Also check the Mexican section for spices like oregano, cumin, etc. Badia brand is always cheaper than what you'll find in the official spice aisle for some reason.
