🕑 Added 2023-05-26 10:15:01 +0000 UTCHere’s a case study of this type of incident that I found particularly interesting. In it, a woman was almost entirely consumed by her pet dogs after her death – by the time she was discovered all that remained were some fragments of bone and scraps of her hair.
It’s worth noting, though, that her dogs ripped open and ate some bags of dog food first. It was only when their normal food was exhausted that they turned to the body of their owner. And, because they did so, they successfully avoided starvation until they were discovered. Which, although gruesome, is perhaps something their owner might have found some comfort in.

I remember hearing about such a case from Dr. William Bass, the creator of the first Body Farm, when he gave a presentation at our local college!

I'm OK with my pets eating me if it's necessary to stay alive. They're all here and alive because I saved them, if they eat me then I'll save them one last time. ;)
