I want to thank you guys so much. I'm amazed I managed to win the ENNIE again. Still weird they called the category Best Podcast when two of the 5 finalists were YouTube channels, but I'll take it. While the ENNIES don't release the actual vote numbers, I heard from a little bird that I absolutely crushed the competition.
Meanwhile, as that was going on, that same week I had a severe allergic reaction to something. Still don't know what, but Monday night I started getting itchy spots on my hand, and my back looked like a grid from my idly scratching and it raising up in these huge welts. By Tuesday I was red and splotchy and Very swollen. Wednesday I got into a doctor with most of my body broken out in hives and they shot me up with some stuff, took two biopsies, then gave me 12 days of steroids. So the night of the ENNIE awards I was still looking very rough and, thanks to the steroids, getting zero sleep. Everything is better now. This morning the doctor removed the stitches from my finger and bicep where they cut their biopsies, and gave me a clean bill of health.
Probably TMI.
Anyway, taking advantage of my sleepless nights, I managed to knock out this video a little faster than normal. This one I'm going over six rules from 6 different RPGs that I recommend Game Masters steal and use. I won't be posting it public until Monday the 21st, but you all can check it out early. I plan to get the subtitles finished up tomorrow or Friday.

The lack of sleep was terrible. I normally don't get enough sleep, but with my body fighting whatever it was and only getting 1-2 hours sleep at a time, I was just exhausted, but couldn't do anything about it.

Thanks. The whole affair made me grateful I'd decided against GenCon this year. After the nomination I was bummed I wasn't going (and by then the costs of flight/hotel would have been steep). Then as so many people I wanted to see were talking about going and all hooking up for dinners and panels, and asking if I was coming, I was really regretting that decision. However, if I had decided to go, I'd have been leaving Tue or Wed that week, which means I either wouldn't have been able to go because I knew I was sick, or worse, gone and had to have found a doctor there and then hidden in my hotel room because I looked like that kid in Willy Wonka that turned into a blueberry. Either way would have been awful.
Glad to hear you’re all better now, Seth! Hopefully it was just a flare from that Blackwater Creek bootleg whiskey Jack has been enjoying. It’s totally harmless. Congratulations on the well deserved Ennie! Stay healthy, man!
