In terms of actually stable memory clocks the board starts having major issues above 7600. Overall pretty similar to the Z790 DARK.

Can you break down the asus z790 apex? I have one on the way and would like if there where a good review

good to hear, I really am unsure how to figure out if it's the board or the IMC limiting. I figured since I need rather high SA voltage of 1,3V to even boot without bluescreening instantly, the IMC might be at its end.

both my 13600K and 13900KS have issues above 7600 I wouldn't bother with testing more CPUs.

I've recently purchased this board aswell and run into the same issues on mem oc. Until 7800 it's no sweat, 8000 is near impossible to get stable, yet boots reliable every single time. Might be an IMC issue too though. Would need another CPU to check which I don't have cause I'm poor.
