the thing is while a lot of 6000C30 kits are A-die they aren't ALL A-die. Sometimes you still get 16Gb M-die in that speed.

Wait a sec- does that make this buying guide out of date? It's suggesting 2x16 6000 CL30. That's different from this most recent reply.

Gskill cl30 6000 I got was an M-die. i can do 6400 1:1 and 8000 2:1 using the memory try it botton on the x870e Carbon. just starting overclock the ram so this is going to be a xmas thing. with a 9800x3d chip. i just got the ram Gskill 30-38-38-38

More testing and Acer kits show the same BSODs. It seems my 9800X3D and ROG X670E Extreme board just cannot handle RAMs at 6000MT/s in a stable manner. Downclocking RAM speed to 5800MT/s seems to solve the instability issue. It's less than ideal of course, but I do not know what else I can do.

other than motherboard incompatibility and thus having to underclock ram to make it stable. is there any other reason why 4x16gb should be slower? I'm running 4x16gb cl28 6000 with your timings no issues but wondering if I f'd up and should've waited for 32gb sticks to come back in stock lol

Both XMP and EXPO kits are 6000 CL30-40-40-96-1.4 V. Model numbers are F5-6000J3040G32GX2-TZ5NR and F5-6000J3040G32GX2-TZ5RS.

I would recommend never using any kind of AUTO CPU OC. But it's kinda odd to me that the G.skill kits would have issues. What voltage are they?

This might somehow be a G.Skill issue. I have swapped G.Skill RAMs for Acer ones and there is no BSOD so far if EXPO alone is turned on (which means I cannot turn on Asus AI OC by setting CPU Core Ratio to AI Optimised otherwise it consistently leads to BSOD).

Your my first patreon sub so I could ask this lol: What about timings..? Which I knew close to nothing about since 10 min ago. You recommend 7600mhz as a viable alternative; the lowest CL is 36 on those..

Tried both Trident Z5 (DOCP) and Trident Z5 Neo (EXPO) 6000 CL30 and while Neo is a bit better it is still highly unstable

Hi i just finished my new build. With msi x870 tomahawk 9800x3d and 8400ddr5 gskill . But i could it run even at xmp1 it didn’t boot at all. Honestly I don’t know anything about over clocking. How can i run my ram at their full speed?

Asus ROG Crosshair X670E Extreme; EXPO/DOCP turned on = random BSOD/freeze/reboot, the system does boot in most cases.

My specific 9800X3D refuses to run GSkill at 6000 CL30 at all...
